The Ocularists

Marie Allen/Drennan, BCO, BADO

Hi, I’m Marie. I founded Marie Allen Ocularist Ltd. in 1986, and am a second generation ocularist with over 35 years of experience designing and fabricating artificial eyes. I am a Board Certified Ocularist (BCO) with The National Examining Board of Ocularists (NEBO) as well as a Board Approved Diplomate Ocularist (BADO). Over the past 35 years I have enjoyed writing several published journal articles and have served as Director of the Canadian Society of Ocularists. Currently, I serve as the Canadian Representative for the National Examining Board of Ocularists. Outside the office I spend my time working on various art projects, travelling, and connecting with those in my community

Rob Drennan, BCO, BADO

Hello, I’m Robert. My career started in 1990, and I am a Board Certified Ocularist and Board Approved Diplomat Ocularist. Proudly, I have been an active member of the Canadian Society of Ocularists since 1998, working with amazing and talented ocularists across Canada. I enjoy working with a full range of patients from birth to those special folks over 100 years old. I strive to make every visit comfortable and even a little fun. I find great joy in watching people strive to make the best out of any situation, and am grateful to be a small part of changing people’s lives for the better. Out of the office I'm an avid skier, hockey player, and an active participant in my community.

Heather Meszaros, BCO, BADO

Hi, I’m Heather, Rob and Marie’s daughter. I am a Board Certified Ocularist, and am now working towards certification in Anaplastology. I was trained as an optician and contact lens fitter prior to ocularistry. My grandfather was an anaplastologist and Ocularist and I am proud to continue his legacy and as a third generation ocularist. In addition to our Canadian practice, I plan to use my skills and help those in underdeveloped countries, restoring them to normal life and society. I am passionate about my work and am looking forward to providing the best results and care for our patients. I am currently serving as the NEBO Liaison Co-Chair with the International Academy of Ocularistry.

Liz

Hi, I’m Liz and I’ve had the privilege to work with Marie Allen Ocularist Ltd. since 1999 as the office administrator. I love what I do, whether that be general office administration or creating relationships by communicating with patients leading up to and during their appointments. It is truly gratifying to see the impact our work has on people and working with a company that is passionate and caring. In my spare time, I enjoy doing art projects, gardening and spending time with my family.
