Meet Our Team

At Marie Allen Ocularist Ltd., it's our desire to offer a caring, sensitive and relaxed environment which puts our patients at ease. We take pride in producing a quality and comfortable prosthesis designed to match the companion eye.  Both Marie, Rob and Heather are active members of the Canadian Society of Ocularists and the American Society of Ocularists.

The Ocularists

Marie Allen Ocularist Ltd. was founded in 1986 by Marie Allen Drennan, B.C.O, a second generation ocularist with over thirty five years of experience designing and fabricating artificial eyes. Marie is a Board Certified Ocularist (BCO) and a Board Approved Diplomate Ocularist (BADO). She has written several published journal articles and has served as Director of the Canadian Society of Ocularists. Marie currently stands as the Canadian Representative for The National Examining Board of Ocularists.

In 1990, the company expanded to include the professional expertise of Robert Drennan.

Rob is a Board Certified Ocularist (BCO) and a Board Approved Diplomate Ocularist (BADO). Rob has worked in conjunction with BC Children's Hospital to create a resource booklet for parents of Microphthalmic Patients. Rob enjoys sharing his knowledge through lectures with professional organizations and medical groups. He currently serves as one of the Directors for the Canadian Society of Ocularists.

Heather has completed her education at Douglas College in Dispensing Opticianry.  She is a licensed optician and contact lens fitter.  She began her ocularist training in 2015 with her mother Marie Allen Drennan and father, Robert Drennan.  Heather will be a third generation ocularist, as her grandfather was a maxillofacial prosthetist and ocularist.  In addition to her Canadian practice, she plans to use her skills and help those in underdeveloped countries, restoring them to normal life and society.  She is passionate about her work and is looking forward to providing the best results and care for our patients.  When she's not actively engaged in the world of ocularistry, Heather loves travel, fitness and has a heart for human connection.
